The Zawiya Sufi Circle Programme is open to all and offers courses and activities which have been developed to provide a foundation knowledge and understanding of the spiritual path followed by Sufis. There is also the opportunity to experience a traditional Sufi gathering.
The Spiritual Path
When Divine Love inhabits the heart nothing appears difficult, one profits from everything that happens. Thankfully this comes from the fact that love eases the veil that separates us from reality. As this veil becomes thinner and thinner, one experiences profound joy that emanates from proximity with Reality. One is pervaded by the perception of Beauty.
To now God is without limit. Every step of the journey is more marvellous than the previous one.
When God loves his servant he covers his qualities with His Qualities. It is just as if one is invited in by a king and one has no proper attire worthy of the king's abode. The king then clothes him in his own clothes and brings him into his palace.
The Guide
He who tries to find his way by the writings of the Sufi masters of the past is only following their robes. He will remain at the surface of things. Methods differ as a function of the conditions of the period in which we live. Only a living master holds the key to initiate progression
The one that understands the value of the spiritual guide knows that the relationship with him does not depend on words. You see him and he sees you - it is largely sufficient.
The Practice
- The two royal gates that give access to God are invocation and generousity
- Regular practice of invocation will progressively make desires and impure thoughts disappear
- One should keep ones soul clean and pure. The invocation cleans any impurities that may persist
- Love all people no matter what their religion, race or opinion. Everyone
