An Introduction to Sufism
Level 1: Introduction to Sufism – short course
This 10 hour course provides a well grounded introduction into Sufi practices of meditation, invocation and self awareness, and the role of the Spiritual Master in preparing the seeker for the spiritual path. This includes study of seminal works on Sufism, and the connection of Sufism to Islam and other world faiths. Key themes include:
- The Oneness of Existence:
- The need for and means to purification
- The role of the spiritual guide in the realisation of Divine Love
- Provisions for the Journey
No prior knowledge is required but students are expected to undertake some guided background reading during the course and to complete two short assignments.
The course is open to anyone aged 16 and above. Those completing the course will be awarded a certificate.The course will be taught by experienced teachers who are practicing Sufis. The class will be mixed.

The Sufi Way - mobile public presentation
The Zawiya, in partnership with the Reflection Network, has developed a two hour interactive presentation on the Sufi way. This will be delivered by experienced presenters who can vary the content to suit. This can be booked to run at any venue in the West Midlands, and is free to charities and voluntary groups. |
